JACKSONVILLE, Fla.- The only person more excited than Jaguars fans about Kelvin Beachum’s practice debut was the player himself.

The 6-foot-3, 303-pound offensive lineman jogged on to the field just after 9:30 on Thursday morning. With a helmet in hand and a No. 68 jersey finally wrapped around his upper body, Beachum made his way to the offensive line’s typical spot on the closest field to the stands, where hundreds of fans got their first look at the highly-anticipated free agent signee.

While the fanbase watched on, Beachum worked on his technique by himself for several minutes. While it may have looked odd to the average observer, Beachum was back in his element.

“Man, that’s a routine that I’ve been doing since I started at the collegiate level,” Beachum said. “It’s been a routine to be the first person out there. I try to be the first person in the building – me and [Paul Posluszny] are fighting each other to be the first in the building – it’s something I take pride in. Gives me a chance to work on my craft a little bit. I have a number of reps I’m trying to get before my first game.”
