Beachum Nominated For 2017 All Star Of Giving Award

Former SMU offensive lineman Kelvin Beachum has been nominated for the 2017 All Star Giving Award, All Sports United announced today.

Beachum, a four-year starter at left tackle for the Mustangs (2008-11), was selected in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he spent four seasons (2012-15). He recently signed a three-year deal with the New York Jets in March after playing last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

On the Hilltop, Beachum was a three-time All-Conference USA selection, earning first-team honors during his final two years as a Mustang. As a senior, Beachum was selected to both the Rotary Lombardi Award and Outland Award watch lists.

The Mexia, Texas, native has made a major impact in the community and was recently featured by the NFL for his work in Mexico and Central America in a video celebrating National Hispanic Month.

Beachum is one of 31 nominees across all sports, and joins others such as Carolina Panthers linebacker Thomas Davis, Hall of Fame Coach Mike Ditka, CBS NFL Analyst Boomer Esiason, 1984 Heisman Trophy Winner Doug Flutie and ESPN host and SportsCenter anchor Hannah Storm.
